SCHOOL: Woodmead

Jo's education was at an 'alternative school' for misfits, weirdos and
hippies. It was converted from a retreat for recovering drug addicts,
but a lot of them stayed on when it became a school.

Students figured out their own curriculum which resulted in a lot of
smoking of the local lush plant life. It was a boarding school in the
country which encouraged poetry , politics and long hair. There was no
hierarchy or division between students or teachers and classes were
frequently held under large shady trees. No yearbooks were ever made,
but the school did produce a Mr Universe, a world famous cross country
runner and a lot of political activists.
